How to Turn What You Know Into One Clear Online Offer

Write it on one page, in this order: the problem, the result you promise, the steps a person has to take to get there, and the smallest amount of content that gets her through those steps. Then decide what you are leaving out. The leaving out is the actual skill, and it is the reason most first offers never get finished..

Why this matters

Every outline grows. You start with four things to cover and end with nineteen, because each one reminds you of something else she might need.

She might. But an offer that covers everything is exhausting to build, exhausting to buy, and it hides the result inside a pile of material. People do not want more information. They want to be further along than they were.

One page keeps you honest, because you can see the whole thing at once.

The one page blueprint

The problem. In her words, not yours. The sentence she would say to a friend.

The promise. One result, specific enough to know whether it happened. "You will have a finished, working version of X" is a promise. "You will feel more confident" is not, because nobody can tell when they have arrived.

The steps. What she genuinely has to do, in order, to get from the problem to the result. Usually four to six. If you have twelve, some of them are the same step wearing different hats.

The content. For each step, the smallest thing that gets her through it. A page. A short video. A checklist. Not everything you know about that step, just what she needs to take it.

What is left out. Write this list down and keep it visible. It is version two, and it is a comfort when you feel the urge to add.

Where AI helps, and where it must not

It is good at organising material you supply.

Give it your messy notes and ask for a sensible order.

Ask which steps overlap.

Ask what a beginner would be confused by.

Ask it to shorten something you have written to half the length.

It is good at pressure testing.

Ask it to argue that your promise is too vague, then fix what it finds.

What it must not do is supply the expertise.

If AI is writing the substance of your teaching, you are selling something you cannot stand behind, and the first hard question from a customer will expose it.

Tell it plainly: organise only what I have given you, do not add information.

Test before you build the whole thing

The most expensive mistake is building for three months and finding out at the end.

Cheaper ways to find out early.

Describe the offer to five people in your audience and watch whether they lean in or go politely quiet.

Run the thing live once, with a small group, at a low price, before you record anything.

Sell the first version before it exists, with an honest date attached, and build it for the people who paid.

A quiet response is information, not failure. It usually means the promise is not sharp yet, and that is fixable in an afternoon rather than in three months of building.

An example

An illustration, not a customer story.

Someone knows a great deal about downsizing a family home. Her first outline has nineteen sections, including a history of the local property market.

On one page it collapses to four steps: decide what leaves, deal with the things nobody wants, prepare the house, and handle the paperwork. The content becomes four short chapters and three checklists.

The property market history goes on the leave out list.

Interesting to her, irrelevant to a woman standing in a full garage in October.

Try this now

One page. Handwritten is fine. Fill in these five lines:

The problem, in her words

The result I promise

The steps she has to take

The smallest content for each step

What I am leaving out

Then paste this:

Here is a one page plan for a digital offer: [paste]. Is the promise specific enough that someone could tell whether it happened? Are any of the steps really the same step? Which parts could I remove without breaking the result? Do not add anything new, only tell me what to cut or sharpen.

Common questions

How long should the first version be?

Shorter than you think. Enough to deliver the promise and nothing else.

What if I leave out something important?

Your first customers will tell you. That is the most valuable thing about having customers, and it is why version one should not be built in secret for six months.

Should the offer have a bonus?

Not in version one. Bonuses are usually a way of avoiding the fact that the core promise is not clear.

How do I know when it is finished?

When someone could follow it end to end and get the result. Not when you have said everything you know about the subject, because that day never arrives.

About Louella and Winning Lifestyles Online

I am Louella. I teach AI to women who are changing direction in their working lives, whether that is going back to work, repositioning, or watching their field change underneath them.

I started learning this in January 2023, when a company I was involved with announced they were shelving finished programs and going back to the drawing board because of AI. I decided to understand it rather than wait and see. It changed the direction of my work.

I went to ChatGPT, because it was the one everybody was talking about. I typed in the prompts I had read about somewhere, the way you copy a recipe before you understand the cooking, and it was a good while before I worked out how to use it in a way that actually suited me.

I test these tools myself and report back honestly, including when the answer is that something is not worth your money yet. That is what I write about each month in The AI Lightkeeper, and it is what the courses at Winning Lifestyles Online are built on.
